Unsold House

Well, we are ending this year very content in our new environment in Harrisonburg. Everything about the situation is comfortable--wonderful people, great job, welcoming community. The one difficulty remains, however. Our house in Cleveland, TN still has not sold. The national news reminds us that real estate prices are depressed everywhere but the situation is not an abstraction when one has a house on the market! After six months in the hands of a Re Max agent, we have changed our strategy. Rather than continue to lower the price hoping to attract a buyer, we have placed the house in the care of a rental agency. In the meantime, it remains a drain on limited finances.

Reflections on the move

Once the decision was made to accept the new position at Eastern Mennonite University, the most difficult obstacle was the sale of our house in Cleveland. It is the major lodestone around which everything else must be arranged. How can we make decisions about what needs to be packed when we have a closing date for this house?
